I am fascinated with this website Charlesandmarie.com. They sell all of this neat stuff, but half of it you can't see unless you've been invited by the Charles or Marie. It's like oink (RIP) or waffles in that you have to be invited by a current member and each member only has 10 invites. It makes me really jealous. I don't think I know anyone who would be a member. In Oprah's living magazine, they had an iPod player that looked like a gramophone, but I couldn't find it on the site. Maybe it is in the private section.

Sorrows over money and Marc Jacobs
I want to completely start my wardrobe over again because I'm moving and I want to become a new person. This sentiment usually accompanies any locational move I make. My new haircut is fierce and I love it. I'll have to fly to New York to get my hair done now because my dearest Curtis is moving there.
I want to be colorful. My graduate school stipend can't support a shopping habit. I'll have to take some clandestine side job.

My future home (though perhaps quite far in the future)
Since I now know that I am moving to St. Louis for graduate school, I am quite excited with the prospects of decorating a new apartment. This is combined with my new friend Kitson who also works at Design within Reach and surfs design blogs and such with me all day at our work. Some of these are within reach (pun intended) and others are not at all...

Chilewich (which I can get for wholesale at my job!)
As you can see, I love faux bois...With my Saarinen knock-off ikea table and amazing matteo linens, my apartment would be particularly stellar.

More Fashion Week Fall 2008
I have to say Erin Featherston, I am so uninspired by your Fall 2008. I couldn't even tell when I has finished the slide show because nothing stood out. The floral chiffon dresses with colored tights were cute, but completely unoriginal.
Milly and Tibi both moved away from their island colorful persona. I loved Milly's forties take and Tibi's seventies.

Tibi
I love Tori Burch as usual. Also the shiny faced models. Dewy skin is awesome.
I was excited to see Halston back, but it was boring. It is hard to make a supermodel look fat, but some of those pants did...
I guess I'm just not refined enough to "get" Peter Som Fall 2008.
As of last year, I am in love with Ports 1961. It's the woman I want to be when I am an anthropology professor. So worldly, hip, and looking great in safari gear (or this case, a scottish stewardess)
I am not nearly a quarter through the links on wwd.com...
More updates surely

New York Fashion Week Fall 2008
Obviously I borrowed these pics from Shopbop. If we were given a whole week for Mardi Gras, I would have surely tried to go New York Fashion Week instead of battling Mardi Gras traffic.
Binetti's (above) collection for Fall 2008 has all the colors and textures that my epitimize where my wardrobe is (slowly) but surely heading towards.
Marc by Marc Jacobs Fall 2008 reminded me that it is totally ok to where all black. When two certains pairs of booties arrive (see below), I cannot wait to pair them with all black (tights and mini dress and perhaps a punchy scarf-RIP Hermes scarf 2007)
I really like how accessible Charlotte Ronson's line was. Street not Haute Couture. Looks like girls I know, or rather want to know.
And Ducette Duvall, a name I've never heard before, was pretty Jackie O fab. I absoluetly want the green wool bib mini dress with orange patent heels and sheer socks.
I haven't gotten to look at all the collections, but www.wwd.com/fashionweek/fall2008 is an awesome resource. I'll have more time tomorrow, so expect more updates.
